Consider this:

This is a blessed Book We have revealed to you, so that they deliberate in its verses, and so that the men of
understanding may heed to advice. (Quran 38:29)

The blessings are coming from pondering the verses. How could one possibly ponder something unless they understand what it is that they are pondering? The Quran in your own language is expanding the wisdom from mere sounds that you do not understand fully into words, sentences, and verses that can touch your heart. You expand the power of the spoken words by utilizing a translation which you already understand because the fewer processes your brain has to do, the more readily it comprehends. As you recall, understanding is the road to knowledge when it comes to the Quran.

This verse addresses hypocrites who read the Quran without attempting to genuinely understand it:

Then, do they not give serious thought to the Qur’an, or do they have locks on their hearts? (Quran 47:24)

This is an excellent question and all of us must ask ourselves how we can claim to love and understand teachings unless they sincerely teach us something. In order to have a stronger relationship with God it is paramount to understand the guidelines for living that he laid out for us all through His Prophet صلىالله عليه وسلم (Peace Be Upon Him)
